Naturally present proteins are extracted and isolated from non-genetically modified potatoes resulting in functional proteins with unique characteristics for applications as binding agent in meat alternatives or smooth textured dairy alternatives.
Potato protein isolate is in the pilot phase. Commercial production is expected to start in 2024 – 2025
GreenProtein was a European project under the Horizon 2020 EU-BBI schedule aiming at a major innovation in the field of protein production and food loss reduction in the EU by producing high-added value, food-grade functional proteins and other ingredients, out of green leaves.
